Places to visit around K9 Swim™

K9 Swim's™ outstanding reputation means that we have customers travelling to the pool from across the North of England! We thought it might be useful to include some information of local areas of interest and beauty spots to complement your visit to the pool. Below is our list of recommended dog walks and dog friendly venues in the local area.

Clayon Vale.jpg

Clayton Vale

Situated approximately 5 minutes from K9 Swim™, Clayton Vale is an area of outstanding natural beauty. A desginated 'Nature Reserve', the vale is home to many native species of birds and aquatic wild life. Parking is availble at the Berry bridge entrance, which features the visitors centre and a walk along the River Medlock with exits at the Viaduct or looping back round to the car park. The car park is free to use and is open throughout the year, closing at dusk in the winter months. 

Brookdale Park

Within walking distance of K9 Swim™ is Brookdale Park. The park features Children's play area, Multi use games area (MUGA), Football pitch, BMX track and skate park, Tennis court (courts are free), Bowling green and pond dipping platform.

Woodhouses 

Woodhouses is a semi rural village just south of K9 Swim™. Woodhouses features a handful of dog friendly pubs including the Dog & Partridge and the Woodhouse Gardens, both serve food all day. Please visit their respective websites for the latest regulations regarding social distancing.

Daisy Nook and Crime Lake

After travelling through Woodhouses you will enter the Country Park of Daisy Nook. Crime Lake (The name orginates from a local word for meadow) is situated on the borders of the park and is home to lots of local wildlife. Daisy Nook is located on the disused Holinwood Branch Canal and includes a garden centre and riverside café.
